How this work is made

The enduring work is preserved meaning. This website is one expression of it.

  1. Tibetan source. The source corpus is kept immutable. Quotations are copied from it, and every published Tibetan quotation is checked against its exact witness.
  2. Tibetan wiki. Concepts, distinctions, contradictions, and source anchors are kept in Tibetan as a durable retrieval layer.
  3. Translation and distinctions. English is written from the Tibetan evidence. Difficult material is contextualized, not omitted, and uncertainty remains explicit.
  4. Review. Quotations, contexts, variants, terminology, and internal links are checked before Nick’s final editorial read. Teacher consultation is attributed only to the material actually reviewed.
  5. Publication. Reviewed material appears in the default Teachings path. Everything else remains clearly marked as working.

What “reviewed” means

An entry becomes reviewed only after its Tibetan quotations match the corpus; cited contexts and known variants are checked; terminology agrees with the rendering ledger; uncertainty and contradictions remain visible; and Nick has completed the final read.

Evidence identifiers

Each translated quotation has a stable evidence identifier derived from its source work and normalized Tibetan text. Public pages show the source, public locus, Tibetan, and identifier. Private filesystem locations and unapproved records never appear in the deployed site.

Corrections

Every teaching page has its own correction link. Accepted corrections enter the private review ledger before publication. You can also write with a correction.

Preservation

Each edition is designed to be restorable without this particular website: source Markdown and MDX, normalized data, source metadata, evidence hashes, review records, and rendered static HTML are bundled together. Copies belong in the working repository, encrypted object storage with retention controls, and a separately held encrypted offline archive.
